    Equipment and Installation 3. 2 Description of the Device The patient side of the EyeRefract unit contains the hardware with which the patient is in contact, such as the phoropter apertures and the forehead support. Opposite it is the rear panel, which contains various connectors, a built-in printer, and the power switch.

    Equipment and Installation Near-Vision Target The near-vision target is a screen that is built into the EyeRefract unit. When the flap containing the tablet is folded down, the patient sees the chart monitor. When the flap is up, the patient sees the near-vision target.

    Equipment and Installation Site Requirements The EyeRefract unit should be placed on a table or desktop close to a power outlet, and opposite a wall on which the chart monitor can be installed. The heads of the unit should be at least five meters from the chart monitor.

    2. Connect one end of the power cable that came with the unit to the power connector on that unit. Note: The power connector of the EyeRefract is located on the bottom of the unit (#6 in illustration of the rear panel).
  • Page 23 This network is created and managed by the supplied router. The EyeRefract unit is connected to this router by means of a network cable, while the other components connect wirelessly via WiFi.
  • Page 24 The supplied lens meter enables you to import prescriptions of existing eyeglass lenses directly into the EyeRefract.     Before cleaning the unit, turn it off and unplug it from the electric outlet. To clean the plastic surface of the EyeRefract unit, dampen a cloth with a commercial, non- abrasive cleaner and gently wipe the top, bottom, and front surfaces.

    Maintenance 6. 2 Replacing the Printer Paper The printer is mounted on the rear panel of the EyeRefract unit. If the paper roll is used up, the Printer LED indicator blinks. To insert a paper roll into the printer: Lift the handle in the middle of the paper compartment and pull the cover down.
