    DESCRIPTION The Tellabs FlexSym ® ONT202 (ONT202) is part of the Tellabs 200 series of optical network terminals (ONT) for 10 Gigabit Symmetrical Passive Optical Networks (XGS-PON). The ONT202 offers two multi-rate Ethernet ports as follows:  MG1 (10G) - Muti-gig service port supporting 10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M speeds.

The ONT202 supports security across the optical distribution network and end-to-end over the OLAN system, such as encryption of traffic on the PON using the Advanced Encryption Standard AES-128 and Access Control Lists (ACL) at Layer 2 through 4 levels.

  • Page 16 The ONT can be installed in most any location including desktop, indoor surface and electrical gang box mount, outdoor NEMA enclosures, ceiling plenums and racks in communication closets.   • Page 17 Power Requirements The FlexSym ONT202 requires 52-57 VDC at up to a maximum of 2.78 amps (at full PoE load). DC power can be obtained from one of the two optional AC adapters at the installation location, or from a central remote bulk 54-volt DC power supply.
  • Page 18 · UNPACKING AND INSPECTION The Tellabs ONT and related accessories may arrive in a single shipping container, or in multiple containers. When unpacking the boxes, check each item against the installation work order and for obvious shipping damage. If a shortage or damage is found, contact the Tellabs Warranty/Repair and Return Center immediately.

  • Page 21 Verifying the Installation · INSTALLATION OVERVIEW This page provides guidance on installing the Tellabs FlexSym ONT202 and any required accessories. The procedure involves the following steps: 1. Physically mount the ONT and accessories 2. Connect the ONT to DC power 3.
  • Page 22 Wall Mounting Bracket The FlexSym ONT202 can be attached to a wall or other indoor surface using an optional Wall Mounting Bracket. Before mounting the ONT, consider the location and orientation appropriate for access and ease of use. Consider the power cable, optical fiber and ethernet cables that will need to be attached to the ONT.
  • Page 23 2. Press the ONT onto the bracket to engage the keyholes and compress the bracket spring clips. 3. Slide the ONT away from the bracket spring clips until they pop up and lock the ONT into place. Page 23 of 40 © 2024 Tellabs Enterprise, Inc. All rights reserved.

  • Page 27 A Recommended OEM DIN Rail Mount is from the Panduit Catalog. The rackmount is a standard, 19-inch, with a DIN rail that can hold up to 11 vertically stacked ONTs. The ONTs mount to the DIN rail using the Tellabs Universal ONT DIN Rail Mounting Bracket.
