INTRODUCTION This document provides instructions to install the Tellabs® OLT2 Optical Line Terminal (OLT2). The OLT2 is a self- contained and sealed unit, for mounting on a wall or in standard 19-in (48.3cm) size rack. This guide describes the 100−220 VAC powering, suggested mounting instructions and turn up and the initialization procedures for the OLT2.

Page 23 Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Observe and follow all ESD instructions while handling Tellabs plug-in equipment. Caution! The Tellabs plug-in equipment uses semiconductor devices that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Do not remove a plug-in from a protective packing box or equipment rack until time of installation or replacement. To equalize the static charge on the plug-in, establish a body path to ground using an ESD wrist strap connected to a ESD ground.

UNPACKING AND CHECKING THE OLT2 The Tellabs OLT2 and related accessories to be installed may arrive in a single shipping box, or in multiple boxes. When unpacking the boxes, check each item against the installation work order for proper quantities and for shipping damage.
Page 27 1. Remove the rack mounting brackets from the OLT front panel and attach the brackets to the sides of the OLT. 2. Place the OLT2 on the surface it will be attached to. Position the bracket so that it will hold the OLT in the desired orientation.

1. Insert the 8 pin molex power cable into the power input socket at the back of the Tellabs OLT2. Note: The Tellabs OLT2 does not have a power on/off switch, as it is not intended to power down the shelf while it is in service.

OLT2 CONFIGURATION As shipped, the OLT2 is configured to facilitate quick and easy out of box setup and testing. This setup is designed to minimize the effort required to establish initial connectivity. Once connectivity to the OLT2 is established, it can be configured to conform to the current network deployment.
Page 38 Connect via SSHv2 The OLT2 is shipped with the default IP address 192.168.0.10. When an SFP is installed into any uplink port, this IP address can be used to access the OLT CLI using an untagged SSHv2 connection. It is recommended that the default IP address be changed to avoid a conflict with the next unit turned up.

For the OLT2 by default from the factory puts all uplinks in a single LAG allowing communication / connection to the network when any of the links are plugged AID of Uplink Interface Accept the system default (NET1).

You can then relaunch the wizard to correct any mistakes. The next attempt should be faster as the wizard will use the responses from the last execution as defaults in each prompt.
