      This document provides instructions to install the Tellabs®1131 Optical Line Terminal (OLT). The 1131 is a self-contained and sealed unit, for mounting in standard 23-in (58.4cm) and 19-in (48.3cm) size racks. This guide describes the 100−220 VAC powering, suggested mounting instructions and turn up and the initialization procedures for the OLT1131.

The same is true for the splitter-to-ONT fiber cables. 1. Route the single-mode fiber jumper for the primary PON Protection Group primary connection from the designated PON port to the #1 input on the splitter shelf (refer to the illustration).

At the OLT supplying the primary input, clean the connected fiber, according to local practices, and insert the fiber into the designated PON port. An audible click is heard when the connector is completely inserted.

    The customer will contact the Tellabs® Technical Assistance Center (TAC), if the Tellabs® 1131 becomes inoperable or if there is any damage to the unit after arrival. The Tellabs® 1131 will be boxed and shipped back to Tellabs for maintenance or a new replacement.

If the 1131 unit is already rack mounted, slide the unit forward a couple of inches or remove it from the rack to gain access to the faceplate screws.
