7.3 Troubleshooting Procedures
Use the following procedures to troubleshoot your system. If you have followed all of the
procedures below and still need assistance, refer to the
Returning Merchandise for Service
changing any non hot-swap hardware components.
General Technique
If you experience unstable operation or get no boot response, try:
1. With power off, remove all but one DIMM and other added components, such as add-on
cards, from the motherboard. Make sure the motherboard is not shorted to the chassis.
2. Set all jumpers to their default positions.
3. Power up. If the system boots, check for memory errors and add-on card problems.
No Power
•
Check that the power LED on the motherboard is on.
•
Make sure that the power connector is connected to the power supply.
•
Check that the motherboard battery still supplies approximately 3 VDC. If it does not,
replace it.

•
Check that the system input voltage is 100-120 VAC or 180-240 VAC.
BP_PWR1
•
Turn the power switch on and off to test the system
section(s) in this chapter.
