Description
Westward Ratcheting Cable Puller, Model 4LY45 and Ratcheting Web Puller, Model 4LY46 both have a maximum lift
of 1000 lbs. and a pull maximum of 2000 lbs. The Westward Ratcheting Double Line Cable Puller, Model 4LY47 has
a maximum lift of 1500 lbs. and a pull maximum of 3000 lbs.
Unpacking and Assembly
After unpacking unit, inspect carefully for any damage
that may have occurred during transit. Check for loose,
missing, or damaged parts. Shipping damage claim must
be filed with carrier.
4LY45 No assembly is required.
4LY46
1. Remove (2) bolts and nylon insert lock nuts from the
ratchet fork.
2. Insert the handle in between the two sides of the
fork and align the holes.
3. Re-insert bolts and tighten nuts.
4LY47
1. Puller handle is collapsed for
storage inside carrying case.
2. Loosen knobs on the fork and
rotate handle to a straight
position.
3. Pull down on the handle to ensure the locking mechanism is engaged.
4. Tighten knobs.
Operating and Safety Instructions
TO LIFT OR PULL A LOAD
Press down on the selector switch, as illustrated in
figure 1. The Locking plate should be fully seated in one
of the sprocket teeth. Move ratchet handle back and
forth to rotate the drum or wheel and spool up the line.
TO RELEASE LINE TENSION AND THEREFORE
THE LOAD
Ensure that there is no one in
close proximity to the puller and the load.
Disengage the drive lever by pulling up or back on the
selector switch as shown in figure 2. Move ratchet
handle back and forth.
TO PULL CABLE OR WEBBING MANUALLY
(FREEWHEELING)
The drive lever must be in the up position. Pull back on
the stop or locking lever as shown in figure 3 and pull
on the cable or web for the desired length.
