Product overview Main module Every Metis system is built up with a Main module and one or multiple measurement units. Measurement modules 2.2.1 P-module There is a series of pressure measurement modules available for the Metis product family. If a LEM-module is connected to Metis, all 3 parameters will be shown in the main screen in the left bottom corner. They can be selected to view a trend over the past period. -

Removing power without shutdown procedure may damage your product. Ethernet private The private ethernet port is used to connect Metis measurement modules. It is a separate network connection that is isolated from the public interface. The private ethernet port must be connected to the POE switch in order to power the measurement modules, as the port itself does not have POE capabilities. -

Ethernet public The Metis main module can be connected to a company network or directly to a dedicated computer. Doing so will enable you to connect Metis to AutoCal+ to perform automatic calibrations. network settings need to be set before the interface can be used. Futhermore communication via port 2001 is required for communication between Metis en AutoCal+. -

Every Metis main module has a built-in POE switch that allows you to connect up to 7 Metis measurement modules. All the ports on the switch are the same, so it doesn't matter which one you use. If you have an additional POE switch installed, you can connect it to the first POE switch using a network cable. -

HDMI A HDMI port is available at the back of the device. It can be used to connect an external monitor. The content of the Metis main screen will be duplicated on the external monitor. To use HDMI for mirrored output, you will need the following: 1. -

The modules menu button brings you to an overview of all connected modules. 4.2.1 Connecting modules Connecting measurement modules to Metis is as simple as connecting an Ethernet cable to the built-in switch and waiting for it to be automatically found. Once found, a popup up will appear. -

Page 16: Sequences
Loop supply Enable/disable of the loop sypply Sequences Metis offers the functionality tot create test or calibration sequences. These are pre- configured sequences that can repeatedly be executed. This allows procedures to be consistently ran which improves quality. The sequences menu can be entered using the sequence button on the home screen. - Page 17 Sensor A sensor measures the output value of device under test. A connected sensor module can be selected. This can for example be a pressure input from a Metis P-module. Manual Manual input of values is available for both actuator and sensor. Check the manual box for manual operation.

Metis can automatically synchronise date and time with a timeserver. This is possible when Metis is connected to the factory network using the public ethernet port. Access to an NTP time server is required. Metis uses a default pool of time servers and configuration of local time servers is not possible. -
Page 21: Custom Units
4.5.3 Custom units Metis features a long list of standard units which covers most needs. A custom unit can be used in case your unit is not listed as standard. Custom units can be used to visualize real time values from a module but can also be used when running sequences. -
Page 22: Network
4.5.4 Network The public ethernet interface can be used to connec to the factory network or single computer. Network settings need to be configured for Metis to communicate over the ethernet. There are 2 options available. 1. Setting up network settings via DHCP: DHCP allows Metis to automatically obtain an IP address and other network settings, such as the subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS servers, from a DHCP server. -
Page 23: Autocal+ Communication
When logged in to AutoCal+ a popup will appear in the bottom right corner when a Metis device is found or when a new module is connected to Metis. Simply click the button in the popup to start the process of adding your Metis device. -
