Any equipment used with the pulleys (such as anchors and locking connectors)
must conform to applicable standards and/or regulations.
3. SAFETY
-
In the event that the Wingman MH is shock-loaded, it must be removed from

before and after each use. Remove from service if there is any doubt about safety
and serviceability.
-
Visually and by touch, inspect pulley for cracks, distortion, corrosion, scratches,
gouges, sharp edges, or rough areas that might abrade a rope, or alter the normal
rotation of the sheave(s) or the normal action of the release handle.
-
Verify the sheaves turn freely.
-
Verify all markings and labels are present and legible.
-
An in-depth inspection must be carried out at least every 12 months and more
frequently if the pulley is in frequent and intense use.
5. OPERATION

end of the Wingman MH to an anchor with a shackle, apply a load to the other end,
and verify the rope is locked at the cam block. Grip the haul/tail end of the rope with
one hand and gently open the release handle with the other hand, allowing the rope
to pass through the cam block and lower the load. Gradually close the release handle
and verify the rope is locked by the cam block. With a moderate load on the system,

gripping the haul/tail end of the rope, pull on the remote release cord to actuate the
release handle. Using both hands on the rope while simultaneously actuating the
release handle, gradually relax your grip on the rope so that it begins to slide through
your hands. Modulate the descent speed of the load by a combination of adjusting
your grip on the rope and moving the remote release cord up or down.
NOTE: Keeping the same hand on both the rope and the cord ensures that if your
hand travels closer to the anchor point the remote release eases and the lowering
stops.
Hold the remote release handle and haul/tail end of the rope together to control the
rate of descent. To stop lowering, ease pressure on the handle to close and lock it.
Releasing the handle completely immediately stops the lowering action. Limit the load
to 300 lbs when using remote release.
