Introduction
The system inlrared mono, consistmg of the transmlffer SI 406 and the receiver
HDI 406. was speclally put together as a set lor the wlreless transmission
01 the
televIsion sound. It has been bullt up to the latest state 01 engineering.

Operation
Before putting the system into operation the accu plug 5 of the receiver/head-
phones HDI 406 must be charged tor at least 24 hrs as a certain amount of
sell-discharge
during storage is unavoidable. Having completed this stage,
please proceed as folIows:
Infrared

1. Plug transformer unif 1 info 220 volt mains socket.

plug into the headphone socket of the television set. The
In order to ensure problem-free
connections,
the SI 406 has been fiffed with
a universal connector. In its entire form the universal connector will fit into
6.3 mm tack socket. If your TV-set is fiffed with a dice-5 or 7-pin
socket, one merety has to remave fhe forward section of the connector in
order to obtain the corresponding
plug. Should you ever wish to
simultaneously
use a wire-bound
headphone, this can be achleved by
plugging It onto the back of the transmitter's
connector plug.

Should your television sef happen to be fiffed with a different socket,
this problem can be solved by using a suitable adapter (figure 1) or having
your dealer change the connector (figure 2).
3. Set up the inlrared transmiffer so that the invisible mfrared light is emiffed
freely throughout
the room. Due to its Ilat construction,
this unit can be
positioned underneath or on top of the majority of televisions.

Pie ase note:
In same TV-sets the headphone/second
speaker socket is a switch socket so
that the loudspeaker
can be switched off during headphone transmission.
Depending on how you insert the plug (1800 rotation) the loudspeaker is
switched olf or left on. Other TV-sets have a switch which serves the same
purpose. If in doubt please consult your TV-dealer.
Receiver/headphone
HDI 406
1. Plug (he accu plug 5 into the headphone.
An accu plug can in a day powerthe
HDI406 for approx. 5 hours which is about
the length of an average evening in front of the television. After use you simply
remave it from the headphone and plug it into the nearest walt socket for
recharging. Alter 19 hours the accu is once more lully-charged
for the next
evening's viewing. If the receiver is to be used for more than five hour's daily,
we recommend that you purchase a second accu plug for use as areserve.
