Big Easy 2.0 Deck Instructions

Compatibility & Intended Use
The Big Easy 2.0 Deck is compatible with the Surly Big Easy 2.0 bike, Surly Dummy Cargo bags, Surly Kid Corral, and up to
two direct mount child seats (Burley Dash and/or Thule Yepp Maxi with no adapters).
Max cargo capacity for the Big Easy 2.0 bike is 200 lb (90 kg). Max cargo capacity for the deck alone is 119 lb (54kg).
Please read the Big Easy 2.0 bike instructions for further cargo compatibility and limitations.
NOTE: The Big Easy 2.0 Deck is not compatible with any generation of Big Dummy, Big Easy 1.0, or Big Fat Dummy.

ASTM CONDITION 2
This is a set of conditions for the operation of a bicycle that includes Condition 1 as well as unpaved and gravel
roads and trails with moderate grades. In this set of conditions, contact with irregular terrain and loss of tire
contact with the ground may occur. Drops are intended to be limited to 15cm (6") or less. Please see link to Bike

Installation of Deck
1. Install Dummy Bags and Dummy Rails according to the instructions.
2. Place the deck on top of the rails and align it with the threaded rail
bosses. Ensure that the pedestals on the bottom of the deck overlap
the rail bosses and the deck is sitting flush with the rail tubes.
Note: Make sure that the bag straps on the rails are out of the way
and not pinched between the deck pedestals and rail.
3. Grease the threads of the screws and loosely install all screws
before tightening.
4. Tighten the screws to 5Nm.
Note: If you lack proper tools, knowledge, or patience to get the job done
right, visit your friendly local bike mechanic for assistance. Spare parts
are available in the event that you break or lose something. Always use
Surly hardware.
Ongoing Maintenance
Fortunately, the Big Easy 2.0 Deck requires little maintenance. Periodically check the tightness of the hardware and check for
any signs of cracking or failure. Discontinue use if deck is damaged in any way.
WARNING: Improper installation of bolts may lead to product failure, causing serious injury. Do not exceed specified
torque values. Periodically inspect bolts and retighten if required.
