Surly Longtail Cargo Frame Insert Compatibility & Intended Use
This frame insert is intended to only be used with Surly Longtail Cargo Frames.

Parts Included

Surly Longtail Cargo Frame Insert

Tools Required

• 6mm Hex Key
• Rubber Mallet

Installation

1. Insert the left and right plugs into the exposed ends of your Surly Longtail Cargo Frame's horizontal tubes
(see Figure 1 for orientation of plugs).
2. Feed the threaded rod through non-threaded plug.
3. Using 6mm hex key, tighten threaded rod to 5–8Nm.

Instructions for Tube Repair

1. Insert tapered end of plug into exposed end of tube.
2. Gently tap with a mallet to cold set the tube back to its original round shape.
WARNING: Consult a professional bike mechanic before attempting any tube repairs, incorrectly repairing
a tube can lead to weakening of frame.
