CARE AND CLEANING

Regularly cleaning your Kenmore Elite Grind & Brew Co eemaker according to the following
instructions will help keep the machine working properly.
NOTE - Always let the co eemaker cool completely and
unplug the cord from the power source before cleaning.
AFTER EVERY USE
1. Open the lter basket door and remove the lter basket and reusable gold-tone lter or paper
lter. Discard the co ee grounds and paper lter (if applicable).
2. Remove the carafe from the heating plate and discard any remaining co ee.
3. Wash the lter basket, reusable gold-tone lter, carafe, and carafe lid by hand in warm sudsy
water or on the top rack of your dishwasher. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
4. Wipe the warming plate, control panel, and outside of the co eemaker with a clean, damp
cloth. Do not immerse the co eemaker body, control panel, power cord, or electrical plug in any
liquid. Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads.
CLEANING THE COFFEE BEAN CHUTE
Over time, ground co ee can accumulate in the co ee bean chute, partially blocking it and result-
ing in weaker-tasting co ee. To prevent this, we recommend cleaning the chute every 1-2 weeks,
depending on frequency of use.
1. Make sure there is a new or used lter in place in the lter basket to catch the ground co ee
from the chute.
2. Insert the attened end of the cleaning brush
handle into the chute cover lock, turn it to the
unlocked
position, and lift up the chute cover
(see Fig. 6).
3. Use the cleaning brush to brush any ground
co ee in the chute downwards until it falls into the
lter.
4. Replace the chute cover and use the cleaning
brush handle to turn the lock back to the locked
position.
NOTE - Any other servicing must be performed by an authorized service representative.
