5.4. Using the Style Party
function
The KR-75 comes with an exciting new function
that allows you to improvize to your favorite
music. The Style Party function plays a professional
accompaniment based on chords that are typical for
the selected Music Style. The KR-75 provides a
Style Party backing for all Music Styles indicated by
an asterisk (*) on the front panel. Here is how to
use the Style Party function:
1. Press the [STYLE PARTY] button on the front panel (indicator
must light):

ing on the last Style you selected):

2. Press a button in the MUSIC STYLE pad to jump to the dis-
play page where you can select an available Style Party back-
ing.
The above display page means that we pressed the
MUSIC STYLE [ROCK] button.
3. Use the buttons surrounding the display to select a Style
Party backing.
If the <Page » > function is available, you can
press the corresponding button to jump to the next
page where you will find additional Style Party
backings.
4. Press the [PLAY] or [START/STOP] button to start playback
of the selected Style Party backing.

5. Press the [STOP ] or [START/STOP] button to stop Style
Party playback.
6. Press [STYLE PARTY] again to return to the previous mode
(indicator goes dark).
Selecting your own Style Party backings
You can also program your own Style Party back-
ings by recording them using the KR-75's Compos-
er function. Such backings need to be saved to flop-
py disk (like any Composer song you wish to keep,
see also page 32).
Here is how to select a Style Party backing of the
inserted floppy disk:
1. Insert the floppy disk that contains the desired Style Party
file into the KR-75's disk drive.
2. Press the [STYLE PARTY] button (indicator lights).
3. Press the [DISK/USER] button.

4. Select the desired Style Party backing using the buttons sur-
rounding the display.
5. Press the COMPOSER [PLAY] or the [START/STOP] button
to start playback * , and [STOP ll] (or [START/STOP]) when
you're done.
Have fun with the Style Party function! If necessary,
you can change the tempo using the TEMPO but-
tons.
* You can also press the buttons surrounding the display
that refer to the display icons <PLAY> or <ALL ST>
(that plays all Style Party sequences on disk in loop
mode).
Note: In Style Party mode, you can split the keyboard in
such a way as to be able to drum with your left hand,
while you can play the melody with your right hand. If
you feel like drumming to your melody, press the One
Touch Program [ARRANGER]
button.
