Operating the TV
To change the picture and sound
settings
(When the TV is first switched on the
picture and sound settings are always
at preferred or 'personal preference"
values).
Sound settings
To change the volume (1)
e Press the <_] button to decrease the
volume.
e Press the C
button to increase the
volume.
To change the treble setting ($)
e Press the A button to increase the
amount of treble in the sound.
e Press the V button to decrease the
amount of treble in the sound.
To change the bass setting (0:)
e Press the A button to increase the
amount of bass in the sound.
e Press the V button to decrease the
amount of bass in the sound.
To change the balance of the
sound (t, 4)
e Press the <_) button to increase the
sound directed to the left loudspeaker.
e Press the C> button to increase the
sound directed to the right
loudspeaker.
Picture settings
To change the colour intensity (C3)
e Press the A button to increase the
colour intensity.
e Press the V button to decrease the
colour intensity.
To change the brightness (^ O: )
e Press the A button to increase the
brightness.
e Press the V buttton to decrease the
brightness.
To return to the personal preference
settings
e Press the PP button.

settings using the TV buttons
To change the volume of the
sound (<1)
e Press the » button to increase the
volume.

To change the contrast of the

@ Open the control-panel flap on the
TV,

(Sometimes you may want to prevent
other people switching on your TV
when you are not present.)
@ Open the control panel flap on the
TV
e Press the 4 P and — Q contrast
button simultaneously, with the TV
switched on.
The TV then switches off, and the RED
colour is displayed on the lamp located
below the screen.
e Close the control-panel flap on the
TV
e ihe TV can now only be switched on
by pressing a digit button on the
remote control handset (which you can
put away safely until you want to use
the TV again).
To select stand-by mode
The TV can be put into stand-by mode
in three ways:
1. Directly
e Press the ¢') button. The RED colour
is displayed on the lamp located below
the screen, and the TV is put into
stand-by mode.
2. Using the timer
(With this method you can select a time
period after which the TV switches to
stand-by mode)
e Press the @ button until the required
time period is displayed on the screen
(the time period can be set in steps of
15 minutes starting from 90 minutes).
During the final minute of the selected
time period, '01' is displayed on the
screen informing you that the TV is
going to switch to stand-by mode. At
the end of this time period the TV
switches to stand-by mode and the
RED colour is displayed on the lamp
located below the screen.
3. Automatically
Approximately 15 minutes after a TV
station stops broadcasting
('closedown') then the TV switches
itself automatically to stand-by mode.

e Press a digit button on the remote
control handset so that a program
number is selected.
or,
e Press the <P or? P button located
on the front of the TV.
The RED oolour lamp (located below
the screen) changes to GREEN when
the TV is switched on from stand-by
mode.
