    2. Introduction 2.1 About these instructions for use In this section you will find information on the structure of the instructions for use and expla- nations of the signs and symbols used. These instructions for use contain instructions for operating the nursing home bed. These instructions for use may contain inaccuracies or typographical errors.

    The movita sc is designed for a safe working load of 205 kg, with a maximum resident weight of up to 170 kg and a mattress and accessory weight of 35 kg. If other, heavier or further loose or attached accessories are used, the maximum resident weight must be adjusted accordingly (see technical data).

    4. Commissioning 4.1 Delivery The nursing home bed is usually delivered without head/foot boards and side panels installed. These must be attached on-site by qualified personnel. ▪ Ensure the delivery is complete by checking it against the provided delivery papers. ▪...

    5. Handset When using the handset and especially when releasing the mechanical locks for operators/residents/carers, the suitability must be checked by the responsible medical supervisor, taking into account the physical and mental capabilities and the state of health of the respective resident.     5.1 Locking the handset The handset can be locked by means of a mechanical lock on the back. To do this, use the key which is attached to the handset on delivery and turn it to position I or II or the closed lock. The handset is completely locked in each of the three positions and can now no longer perform any functions.

    5.3 Care functions of the handset The care functions are locked for the resident by an electric lock. For safety reasons, they may only be enabled by medical staff or "under medical supervision"! Care mode is activated by pressing the upper two buttons of the care functions (automatic comfort seat and semi-Fowler position), which are to the left and right of the nurse symbol, for at least 3 seconds.

    7. Proper handling of the main cable The movita sc nursing home bed is equipped with a coiled cord. The cable has a plastic hook is attached to it. The power supply cord must be prevented from being dragged across the floor, being trapped or being run over by the castors when moving the bed.

    8. Moving and braking The bed is mobile. By simply repositioning the bed within the room, the surface it stands on and the nursing home bed itself can be cleaned more easily. If the bed is not equipped with an undercarriage cover, it is suitable for transporting residents. This means that immobile residents can also be moved in the bed.

    8.1 Individual castor locking Both the head board and the foot board have an axle with lockable castors underneath. The castors have brake levers on the left and right side of the bed (in the case of central locking, only at the foot end, and all castors are locked at the same time).     10.2 Air2Care The bed is compatible with Air2Care 5 and 6 mattresses. The operation and assembly of the Air2Care mattress is described in the instructions for use supplied with the product. This is an alternating pressure mattress. With its 2-cell alternating pressure, it provides reg- ular pressure relief for the resident.

    10.3 Mobilisation 10.3.2 Lifting pole The holder for the lifting pole is located on the head side of the mattress support platform frame. Caution! The triangular holder and strap are made of high-quality plastic. However, all plas- tics are only somewhat resistant to ageing, so that the triangular holder or strap can break or tear after a long period of use.

    The SafeSense® bed exit assistant informs nursing staff when a resident leaves their bed. To help provide better orientation at night, it offers the resident automatic underbed light.     11.1 Cleaning The furniture surfaces of wissner-bosserhoff products comply with the requirements of EN 12720 for furniture surfaces exposed to chemical stress, and therefore have excellent resist- ance to usual, normal stresses.

    11.2 General procedure for cleaning/disinfection Preparation ▪ Move the bed to its highest position and adjust the backrest slightly. ▪ Disconnect the bed from the power supply. ▪ Lock the brakes and pull up the side rails. ▪ Make sure that the product is free of coarse impurities and dirt particles that could damage the surface during cleaning/disinfection.

    11.3 Notes on disinfection A prerequisite for effective disinfection is prior cleaning of the bed. Only suitable disinfectants may be used that correspond to the disinfectants described in Annex 1 of EN 12720 Part 1 or to the agents on the DGHM or RKI list. The application (e.g. concentration) of the disinfectants should be carried out exactly according to the instructions of the respective disinfectant manufacturer.

Application instructions for nursing home beds NORMAL USE AND PURPOSE OF NURSING HOME BEDS A nursing home bed may only be commissioned, operated and used in accordance with its intended purpose, in compliance with the provisions of medical products legislation, the asso- ciated ordinances, the generally recognised rules of technology and the occupational health and safety and accident prevention regulations.
