SOUND-ON-SOUND
RECORDING
Sound-on-sound
recording
is a
method
of
making a recording on one channel and combin-
ing this original recording with a new record-
' ing made on the other
channel.
With
this
tape recorder, several multiplex recordings can
be made.
For Sound-on-Sound
Recording:
1. Set the Tape Counter to zero,
and
make
a monaural
recording on channel
1.
2. Rewind
the
tape
to
the
starting
point.
Plug the microphone
into channel
2.
3. Set the proper record level of channel
2.
Turn
the
Function
Lever
to
the
PAUSE
position while:
depressing
the
Channel
2
Record button, and adjust the level meter
needle's
deflection
with
the Channel
2
Volume Control
while
putting
the
sound
to be recorded
into the microphone. -
When
recording
sound-on-sound,
set the
record level a little lower than when
mak-
ing an ordinary recording.
4. Disconnect
the microphone.
Connect
the
channel
1 LINE OUTPUT
jack
of the
re-
- corder to the channel
2 AUX
INPUT
jack
with the connecting cord provided.
5. Then turn the Function
Lever to the PLAY
position
(from the PAUSE
position)
while
depressing the Channel
2 Record Button.
The sound
previously recorded on channel
1 will be heard through the speaker, caus-
ing the channel 2 level meter needle to
deflect as channel
2 recording input.
Adjust the needle deflection equal to that
described
in step
3 above
turning
the
Channel
1 Volume Control; in other words,
"by adjusting
the output
level of channel
1 being
played
back. Do
not
turn
the

L'enregistrement
SON-SUR-SON
est
une
mé-
thode
pour
faire un enregistrement
sur
une
seule chaine et de combiner cet enregistrement
original
avec
un
nouvel
enregistrement
fait
sur une autre chaine. Avec ce magnétophone,
on peut faire plusieurs enregistrements
multi-
plex.
Pour enregistrer SON-SUR-SON:
1. Placer le magnétophone
sur
zéro, et faire
un enregistrement monaural sur la chaine 1.
2. Replacer la bande
sur
le point de départ.
Brancher le microphone
sur la chaine 2.
3. Placer le niveau d'enregistrement
approprié
de la chaine 2.
Meéettre le levier de fonc-
tion sur la position Pause tout en appuyant
sur le bouton
d'enregistrement de la chaine
2, et ajuster la déviation
de l'aiguille
du
cadran de niveau avec le contréle du volume
de la chaine 2, tout
en
mettant le son a
enregistrer dans le microphone.
Pour enre-
gistrer son-sur-son,
placer le levier d'enre-
gistrement
un peu plus bas que
lorsqu'on
fait un enregistrement ordinaire.
4. Débrancher le microphone.
Relier le jack
de rendement
de
ligne de la chaine
1 du
magnétophone
au jack d'entrée de courant
auxiliaire
(chaine 2) avec
le fil relieur qui
est fourni.
5. Puis placer le levier de fonction sur la po-
sition Play (a partir de la position Pause)
tout en appuyant sur le bouton
d'enregis-
trement de la chaine 2.
Le
son
précédemment
enregistré
sur
la
chaine
1 sera
entendu
4a travers
le haut-
parleur, faisant
dévier l'aiguille du cadran
