The recharging time and the playback time may vary according to the
conditions of use. When the SPECT DISP switch is set to OFF (POWER
SAVE), the playback time will be a little longer than the time indicated in
the table.

Use the alkaline batteries together with rechargeable battery for
approximately 6.5 hours of playback.
Battery recharge (PB-S5)
e Rechargeable battery needs to be recharged when:
the "MID" lamp of the OPE/BATT indicator turns off and the "EMP"
lamp lights up during playback.
e If the unit continues to be used without recharging the battery, following
symptoms will occur:
tape speed slows down, volume decreases, sound becomes distorted,
playback or reverse function fails, the unit does not operate.
Hint for recharging
Charge the rechargeable battery until the "FULL" lamp of the OPE/BATT
indicator lights up when the PLAY/DIR button of the unit is pressed.
Notes on battery charger
¢ Use only the supplied battery charger to recharge the battery.
¢ When not using it for a long period of time, unplug it from the AC outlet.
