9 Taking measurements
Tip:
To accurately measure wind velocity, the rotor should point directly towards the
wind.
9.1 Measure wind speed
1. Press the UNITS button until a wind speed unit shows on the display: "m/s",
"ft/m", "km/h", "knots", or "MPH".
2. Press and hold the UNITS button to change the unit.
à
The display will show the active unit.
9.2 Measure cross-sectional airflow
Measure cross-sectional airflow by factoring in cross-sectional area and wind velo-
city (e.g., airflow through a duct).
1. Press and hold the SET button to enter settings.
à
"SET AREA" will show on the display.
2. Press the UNITS button to select a unit: ft
3. Press the MAX MIN AVG or HOLD SET button to increase / decrease the
cross-sectional area.
4. Press and hold the UNITS button to save the setting.
à
"1111" will briefly appear if settings are saved, and "0000" if settings failed
to save.
5. Press and hold the SET button to return to measurement mode.
6. Press the UNITS button until an airflow unit shows on the display: CFM (ft³/
min.) or CMM (m³/min.).
7. Press and hold the UNITS button to select a unit: CFM (m³/min.) or CMM (ft³/
min.).
8. Measure the airflow.
à
If the measured data exceeds 9999.0, the value will automatically scale
down by 1/100.
