  • Page 3 2. Assembly Pedestal and Stretcher Assembly Assemble pedestals onto stretcher: 1. Place two pedestals, with stretcher attachment holes facing toward the center, with distance between to be more than overall length of the stretcher. Insert one end of the stretcher into the center square pedestal opening and align with attach holes.

  • Page 7 5. Square the base frame using a carpenter's square or by measuring corners diagonally . The diagonal measurements should not vary more than 1/8 inch.   • Page 9 Slate Assembly and Leveling Assemble slate and level table: 1. Place a precision leveling tool on top of the frame and determine the highest corner. Level the table by positioning shims under the other three pedestal foot pads until the table is level. Be sure that all four foot pads have positive bearing with the floor.
  • Page 10 3. Position the two end slate sections on the base frame as shown. Be sure that the penciled arc forms a radius as shown.. Recheck to be sure the slate has an equal amount of overhang around the base frame. Using the twelve countersunk holes in the slate as a template, pilot drill 5/32”...
  • Page 11 8. From the end of a bed cloth, cut strips of cloth approximately 1-1/2” wide by 8” long and glue the strips to the pocket cutouts. This is important as this will provide cushioning from ball impact and the bed cloth will last much longer.
  • Page 12 Attaching Bed Cloth to Framed Slate Attach bed cloth to framed slate: 1. Before attaching the billiard cloth, clean slate thoroughly. 2. Lay the bed cloth over the top of the slate, nap side up, with the nap running from the head end to the foot end of the table.
  • Page 13 6. Stretch the cloth from #1 to #3 and tack or staple securely into the wood frame at the left side of the table. Stretching the cloth across the table from #3 and pulling from #2, tack or staple the cloth at #4. On the left side, stretch the cloth tightly from #1 toward the side pocket opening and tack or staple securely at #5.
  • Page 14 Attaching Bed Cloth Attach bed cloth: 1. At location #9, cut a short slit in the cloth at the edge centered on the side pocket opening. Grasp the cloth firmly above this slit, pull the cloth into the side pocket opening and tack or staple to the wood frame. Complete fastening of the cloth to the side pocket opening, making sure the cloth is tacked or stapled to the wood frame.
  • Page 15 4. Tack or staple all of the left side on 2” centers keeping the cloth even along the wood frame. Tack or staple the balance of the head end on 2” centers also keeping the cloth even along the wood frame. Stretch the cloth tightly toward the foot end of the table, tacking or stapling on 2”...
  • Page 16 Attaching Rail Cloth Attach rail cloth: Corner Pocket 1. Place cloth on rail with the back side down. The cloth should have equal amount of overhang at both ends of rail and extend 1/2” over the featherstrip groove on the cushion side as shown. Except for approximately 3” at end of rail, tap featherstrip down with a tapping block and hammer, starting at center of rail.

Fold the cloth down over front of rail, then using thumb and forefinger as a guide along front edge of the cushion to keep the tapping block at rear edge of featherstrip, tap the featherstrip down flush with rail surface as shown..
  • Page 18 5. Turn rail over and at corner pockets fold the cloth over the mitred edge as shown, stretching tightly and working out any wrinkles as you staple three places in area shown.   • Page 20 10. Slit the cloth up to the edge of cushion nose as shown. Then firmly pull the small strip to the rear of the cushion and staple at rear of facing. Item Description Qty. Small Fold Small Strip 11. Hold the small fold in place with thumb and forefinger and firmly hold it down over facing. Then staple at rear of facing and at bottom of rail as shown.
  • Page 21 Rail and Apron Assembly Assemble Rail and Apron: 1. Position side rails, head rail and foot rail upside down in their respective positions on a protected surface. Item Description Qty. End Rail Side Rail 2. Insert threaded rods into each side rail end. Slide the end rails into position aligned with the threaded end rod. Using flat washers, external tooth lock washers and hex nuts, align and draw together each of the four connections.
  • Page 22 3. Place connector plates across each side joint between end rails and side rails, one at each corner. Pilot drill as indicated below and attach each plate using pan head screws. Be sure each joint is closed before tightening securely. Item Description Qty.
  • Page 23 6. Feed pocket basket through pocket cut in rail and set pocket iron into the cavities in the top of the rails. Be careful not to damage the wood finish during this process. Attach each pocket with hardware from the under side of the rails.

  • Page 25 10. Thoroughly brush the area on which the bed spot is to be applied. Position the bed spot and firmly roll a ball over the spot to achieve a good bond. Item Description Qty. Head Spot Sticker Foot Spot Sticker NOTE: Bed spots are self-adhesive and can be applied at both head and foot end of the table, or just the foot end, whichever is preferred.
