What is StepControl?
The StepControl is an accessory decoder that is operated on the BiDiBus to control a turntable
(sector table or fiddle yard/traverser) driven by a stepper motor. In addition to a precise control, other
functions like bridge polarization, sound control and with the help of additional electronics on the bridge
(bridge module), sensors, light and servo outputs are available.
Please notice:
The StepControl cannot be controlled by digital command stations that only send digital turnout com-
mands to the accessory decoders (e.g. DCC format).
The StepControl requires the BiDiBus for operation.

This quick guide does not replace the online manual, but provides legal information only.
FichtelBahn also only supports the hardware "StepControl including bridge module" and its setup and
operation. No support is offered for the mechanical implementation, procurement and installation of your
turntable / fiddle yard. In the BiDiB-Wiki you will find possible mechanical suggestions by other users for
which FichtelBahn will not take any responsibility..
Safety Instructions
Designated Use
The normal use of the StepControl is for model making especially digital model railways according to this manual.
Any improper use will lead to loss of warranty. The decoder is not intended to be installed by children under the age of 14.
Intended use also includes reading, understanding and following these instructions and the detailed description in the BiDiB wiki
and on the FichtelBahn website.
To reduce the risk of electric shock and injuries do not touch parts that may carry voltage. Do not touch conductive material
that might carry voltage in case of a fault, e.g. short circuit, improper input voltage, excessive humidity and accumulation of
condensate.
To reduce these risks, keep these safety precautions in mind:
Use this module only indoors and in a clean and dry environment. Avoid moisture and splash water in close proximity.
Switch off the voltage supply before carrying out wiring work. Only use wire with sufficient cross-section. Wait for 2 hours after
accumulation of condensate.

- Connection terminal for power supply
- 2x 4-pole and 1x 2-pole connection terminal for stepper motor and for optional extension "bridge"
- 2x jumper (2,54 mm/1 in grid) for bus termination

Required Materials
- Switching power supply with 12V-18V, DC min. 2A current
- BiDiB-Interface e.g. BiDiB-IF2 (no. 300900)
- RJ45 patch cable for connection to BiDiBus
