Sync Mode Selector
The Sync Mode Selector is used to determine the source to
which the video recorder will be synchronized during Record-
ing, Playback, and Editing (Dubbing).
EXT:
The tape is synchronized with the external composite
sync which is connected to the External Sync Input
Connector on the rear panel. For better dubbing
stability, synchronize with an external composite sync
signal.
NORM:
The tape is synchronized to the input video signal.
This mode is used for normal recording, playback and
dubbing.
Notes:
(1) lf during playback, the input signal is noisy or
unstable (i.e. not 50 Hz frequency), switch to the
"INT" position.
(2) If during playback, there is no input video signal
present, synchronization automatically switches
to internal reference.
INT:
The
tape is synchronized
to the internal
50 Hz
oscillator (derived from internal crystal source). This
mode is primarily used for playback. When recording,
the setting is set automatically to the NORM
mode.
