CHECKING THE FUEL LEVEL (YUM1A/
YUM2A)
1. Check:
• Fuel level
Low → Add the recommended fuel.
Recommended fuel
Regular unleaded gasoline
(Gasohol [E10] or [E5] accept-
able)

CHECKING THE BATTERY (YUM1A/YUM2A)

1. Remove:
• Under-seat panel
Refer to "GENERAL CHASSIS (1)" on page
4-1.
2. Clean:
• Battery top
(with the clean rag)
3. Check:
• Battery terminals
Dirt → Clean with a wire brush.
Loose connection → Connect properly.
4. Check:
• Battery hold down plate
• Loose → Tighten.
Nut
2.5 N·m (0.25 kgf·m, 1.8 lb·ft)

CHECKING THE BATTERIES (YUM2E)

1. Remove:
• Under-seat panel
Refer to "GENERAL CHASSIS (1)" on page
4-1.
2. Clean:
• Battery top
(with the clean rag)
3. Check:
• Battery terminals
Dirt → Clean with a wire brush.
Loose connection → Connect properly.

PRE-OPERATION CHECKS
Terminal nut
10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.4 lb·ft)
4. Check:
• Battery hold down plate
Loose → Tighten.
Bolt
6 N·m (0.6 kgf·m, 4.4 lb·ft)
5. Charge:
• Battery
Refer to "CHECKING AND CHARGING THE
BATTERY" on page 8-51.

CHECKING THE BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY

1. Check:
• Brake pedal free play "a"
Out of specification → Adjust.
Brake pedal free play
50–55 mm (1.97–2.17 in)

2. Remove:
• Floor mat
• Service lid "1"
3. Adjust:
• Brake pedal free play
a. Loosen the locknuts "1".
b. Turn the adjusting nuts "2" until the correct
free play is obtained.
