Description
1 ) During i nterchangeabil ity adjustments, the guide roller is turn­
ed with a flat-blade screwdr i ver to adjust its height and correct
F M waveform l inearity. Use a metric hex key ( 1 .25 m m ) to
s l ightly loosen the setscrew at the base of the guide rol ler (see
F ig. 1 -5-1 ). Loosen the setscrew just sufficiently to al low the
guide rol ler to be turned. If too loose, tape transport w i l l be
too u nstable to permit correct adjustment.
1 ) This compensates for tape r u n n i n g stabil ity between t h e cas­
sette and head drum. After adjusting the supply guide rol ler,
the i m pedance ro l l er height is adjusted for smooth tape trans­
port at the lower flange.
2 ) Use a metri c nutdriver (5.5 m m ) to adjust by turning the upper
nut (see Fig. 1 -5-2) . However, note that excess turning can dis­
turb the FM waveform stabil ity .
