    PLAYBACK The easiest, most basic operation possible with your video recorder is tape playback. Already-recorded signals on a video Ba sic tape are read by your video recorder and displayed on your TV just like a TV programme. S-VHS playback is possible only with S-VHS PAL tapes recorded Pla yba ck in SP or LP , or S-VHS NTSC tapes recorded in the SP or EP mode.

  • Page 20 RECO RD IN G (cont.) S-VHS (Super VHS), S-VHS ET a nd VHS Your recorder can record in S-VHS, S-VHS ET or VHS. S-VHS allows you to make high quality video recordings with a horizontal resolution of 400 lines. This compares with the 240 lines of resolution of normal VHS recordings.

    RECO RD IN G (cont.) The B.E.S.T. (Biconditional Equalised Signal Tracking) system checks the condition of the tape in use during recording and B.E.S.T. Picture playback, and compensates to provide the highest-possible recording and playback pictures. The default setting for both recording and playback is "ON".

    TIM ER RECO RD IN G The G- timer programming system eliminates the need to CODE input channel, date, start and stop time data when setting the CO DE timer record function. Simply key in the G- number for the CODE TV programme you wish to record (found in most TV listings) and the recorder's timer is automatically programmed.
