Bipolar Suction Coagulators

Indication
To coagulate tissue and evacuate smoke
from the surgical site during laparo-
scopic and endoscopic electrosurgical
procedures.
Inspection
The shaft of the instruments should be
straight.
The insulation should be intact. There
should be no dents, scratches, burn
marks, cracking or splitting of the
insulation.
The trumpet valve should be easily
moveable.
The metal portion of the distal tip should
be smooth and free from rough edges.
Cleaning
Follow the general instructions for cleaning
indicated in the Cleaning Section of this
manual.
Lubricate all moving parts, such as
trumpet valves, as indicated in the
Cleaning Section of this manual.
Sterilization
WARNING: High-level disinfection is NOT
recommended for "critical" instruments to
be used for laparoscopic, hysteroscopic or
gynecology procedures.
All suction coagulators may be ethylene
oxide or steam sterilized. Please consult
the Sterilization Section of this manual
for complete instructions for validated
sterilization procedures.
