1 Product Introduction
The Delta external battery pack is applicable to the Delta Amplon RT
Gen3 series 1/ 2/ 3kVA UPS. When a power outage occurs during UPS
operation, the external battery pack will provide DC power to maintain
the UPS's inverter operation to continuously supply power to the
connected critical loads.
2 Important Safety Instructions
Please comply with all warnings and operating instructions in this quick
guide strictly. Save this quick guide properly and read the following
instructions thoroughly before installing the unit. Do not operate this unit
before reading through all safety information and operating instructions.
Do not try to repair the unit yourself. If you need any maintenance,
please contact your local supplier or Delta customer service; otherwise,
your warranty will be voided.

To eliminate any overheating of the external battery pack, keep all
slits and openings free from obstruction and do not place any foreign
objects on the top of the battery pack. Keep the battery pack 200 mm
(7.87") away from the wall.
y
Make sure the external battery pack is installed in a dry indoor area at
a temperature around 0 ~ 40°C (32 ~ 104°F) and at a relative humidity
within 30 ~ 90% (non-condensing).
y
Do not install the external battery pack under direct sunlight. Your
warranty will be voided if the batteries fail due to overheating.
y
The external battery pack is not designed for use in any dusty,
corrosive and salty environment.

The warranty for the external battery pack will be voided if water or
other liquid is spilt or poured directly onto the battery pack. Similarly,
we do not warrant any damage to the battery pack if foreign objects
are deliberately or accidentally inserted into the battery pack.

The batteries will discharge naturally if the system is not being used
for a period of time.
y
The batteries should be recharged every 2 ~ 3 months if they are not
used. If this is not done, the warranty will be voided. During normal
operation, the batteries will be automatically remained in charging
condition.
y
Servicing of the batteries should be performed or supervised by
trained personnel with knowledge of the batteries and required
precautions.
y
For battery replacement, it is necessary to replace all batteries with
the same quantity, type and capacity. Never use old, new and different
Ah batteries at the same time.
y
Do not dispose of the batteries in a fire. The batteries may explode.
y
Do not open or damage the batteries. The released electrolyte is
harmful to the skin and eyes and may be toxic.
y
Risk of electric shock! Hazardous voltage may exist between the
battery terminals and ground. Test before touching with bare hands.
y
A battery can present a risk of electrical shock and high short-circuit

current. Contact with any part of a grounded battery can result in

electrical shock. Please observe the following precautions when
working on the batteries:
1. Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects.
2. Use tools with insulated handles.
3. Wear rubber gloves and boots.
4. Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of the batteries.
5. Disconnect charging source and loads prior to installing or
maintaining the batteries.
6. Remove battery grounds during installation and maintenance to
reduce likelihood of shock. Remove the connection from ground if
any part of the battery is determined to be grounded. Please note
that the battery grounds mean any battery pole (+/ -) connecting
to the ground.

Do not connect to or disconnect from the external battery pack
connector if the UPS works in battery mode.
y
Store the external battery pack in a dry and well-ventilated indoor
area at a temperature around -20 ~ 50°C (-4 ~ 122°F) and at a relative
humidity within 10 ~ 90% (non-condensing). If it needs to be stored
for an extended period of time, please recharge the idle batteries
regularly. Please refer to the table below.

Selection of Installation Position
It is necessary to select a proper indoor area to install the unit in order
to minimize the possibility of damage to the external battery pack and
extend the life of the batteries. Please follow the instructions below:
1. Keep a distance of at least 200 mm (7.87") from the rear panel of the
unit to the wall, devices or objects.
2. Do not block the slits and openings of the unit.
3. Please ensure the installation site's environmental conditions are in
accordance with the unit's working specifications to avoid overheating
and excessive moisture.
4. Do not place the unit in any dusty or corrosive environment or near
any flammable objects.
5. The unit is not designed for outdoor use.
