7. After a few seconds, steam will come from the wand. The milk heats
up and swells in volume;
8. For a creamier froth, swirl the container slowly, moving it from the
bottom upwards.
9. When the froth is as desired, press "Stop"
Danger of scalding!
Stop the flow of steam before distancing the container from the wand,
to avoid the risk of being scalded by splashes of boiling milk.
Please note:
If "Energy saving" mode is activated, it may take a few seconds more for
steam to be delivered through the wand.

Making hot milk (not frothed)

To prepare hot milk without froth, proceed as described in the previous head-
ing, but with the black ring of the steam wand in the "FLAT" position (fig. 33).

Rinse the steam wand after every use

With preparation completed, the machine asks for a rinse to clean the
steam wand.
1. To proceed straight away, place a cup or other recipient under the
steam wand and press "Rinse" (alternatively, to skip the operation
and come back to it some other time, press "Later": the indicator
will light up on the homepage).
2. The rinse starts: after a few seconds, the flow of steam will stop
automatically and the machine confirms that the rinse has been
completed.
3. The machine shows a reminder that the steam wand needs cleaning
regularly (see heading

The steam wand can be rinsed at any time. Proceed as follows:
