3-Dimensional Color Correction

The DR-1210C is uniquely equipped with a new built-in conversion circuit, which not only
allows the scanner to correct each RGB color element independently, but also automatically
adjusts the gamma settings based on a compensated combination of the RGB data. The adjusted
colors in the resulting output images become much closer to the ones in the original
documents.

Punch Hole Removal Function

The punch (or binder) holes that traditionally appear as black dots on scanned images can now
be removed with the DR-1210C. To determine the location of binder holes (appearing as black
dots), the DR-1210C's driver analyzes the scanned image and isolates the holes from other
image elements using a degree of roundness formula. If an image element's roundness falls
between 0.85 and 1.0 and appears within 2 cm of the edge of the document, it is detected as a
binder hole and its color is changed to white.

Note:
Dots or round marks with an area of 10
mm or less are not removed.
Punch holes may not be removed if the
documents are fed extremely skewed.
If letters, lines or images overlap the
holes, punch holes may not be removed.
When scanning in Grayscale or Color
mode, the background of a scanned document
may appear grayish depending on the type of
document and the set brightness level and
the binder holes may be visible as white holes.
