The alert symbol A
is used to identity safety information
about hazardsthat can result in personal injury. A signal
word (DANGER, W ARNING, or CAUTION)is used with the
alert symbol to indicate the likelihood and the potential
severity of the injury. In addition, a hazard icon may be used
to representthe type of hazard. An explanation of hazard
levels and icons are as follows:
DANGER
This indicates a hazardwhich, if not avoided, will result in
serious injuryor death.
'_ WARNING
This indicates a hazardwhich, if not avoided, could result in
serial injury or death.
,i_ CAUTION
This indicates a hazardwhich, if not avoided, might resultin
minor or moderate injury.
CAUTION or NOTICE
These messages presented without the alert symbol indicate
a situation where the unit or property could be damaged.
