When contactingyour authorizeddealer for replacement
parts, service, or informationyou MUST have these
numbers.
Record your model name/number, manufacturer's
identification numbers, and engine serial numbers in the
space provided on the inside front cover for easy access.
These numbers can be found in the locations shown.

Unit ID Tag
SAFETYINTERLOCKSYSTEM
This unit is equipped with safety interlock switches. These
safety systems are present for your safety, do not attempt
to bypass safety switches, and nevertamper with safety
devices. Checktheir operation regularly.
Operational SAFETY Checks
Test 1 -- EngineshouldNOTcrank if:
• PTOswitch is engaged,OR
• Parking brake is not engaged, OR
• Ground Speed/ Steering Control Levers are not in the
NEUTRALposition.
Test2 -- EngineSHOULDcrank and start if:
• PTOswitch is NOTengaged, AND
• Parking brake is engaged,AND
• Ground Speed/ Steering Control Levers are locked in
the NEUTRALposition.
Test 3 -- EngineshouldSHUT OFF if:
• Operator rises off seat with PTOengaged, OR
• Operator rises off seat with parking brake disengaged.
• Operator moves ground speed /steering control levers
out of their neutral positions before disengaging parking
brake.
Test4 -- Blade Brake Check
Mower blades and mower drive belt should come to a
complete stop within five (5) seconds after electric PTO
switch is turned off (or operator rises off seat). If mower
drive belt does not stop within five (5) seconds, seeyour
dealer.
NOTE." O ncethe engine has stopped, PTO switch must be
turned off, parking brake must be engaged,and the ground
speed/steering control levers must be locked in the
NEUTRALposition after the operator returns to the seat in
order to start the engine.
WARNING
If the unit does not passa safety test, do not operate
it. See yourauthorizeddealer. Underno
circumstance shouldyou attemptto defeat the
purposeof the safety interlocksystem.
