CALLING PROCEDURE
You are now ready to call
the
computer.
It
ffi3Y
s~em
like
a
Dig step, but it's really
easy. You might
be
3
little nervous about it,
but so was everyone else
when
he
(or
she)

co~puter

The
type
of
telephone
interfacing
(connection)
equipment
you
have
makes
a
slight difference in the
calling
procedure;
therefore,
each of the three
co~mon
types of
interfacing
equipment
is
discussed
separately.
You
should
go
to
the section
which
discusses
the
type
of
equipment
installed in your office.
How
do
you
know
what type of equipment is
installed in your office? One way is
to
ask
someone
who
is
already
familar
with your
equipment.
Another
way
is
to
read
the
descriptions which follow.
The
three
types
of
interfacing equipments

1.
Acoustic
coupler--this
type
of
equipment
is
prooably
the
most
common. It consists of
a
box
which
has a cable which plu]s into the DATA
socket
in
the rear (rigLlthand side)
of your Printer. It also has a
place
GEK-35970
where
an
ordinary telephone handset
can be cradled. The advantage of
the
Acoustic
Coupler
is that it uses an
ordinary telephone.
