2 Hold both sides of the Top Cover and open it.

3 Using your hand, gently move the Carriage to the
right side.
When the POWER
Switch is set to "ON" while the
Carriage
is on
the right side (after step 10), a
mechanical noise will occur. This is not a problem.
4 Close the Top Cover again and place the Type-
writer on its back.
Remove the Bottom Cover Lid by sliding it to the
right side.
5, Grasp
the Lever
of the Cupwheel

Element between your fingers to release the lock.
Then pull it directly out as shown in the figure.
