7. PROGRAM LOADING FROM AUDIO
CASSETTE TAPE
After connecting a suitable cassette recorder following the procedure outlined in
'Cassette Connections', the computer and TV. сап be switched on and the appropriate
cassette inserted into the recorder.
Set the volume control on the recorder to a reasonably high level, rewind the tape to the
beginning of the desired program(s), and then press the PLAY button. If the tape begins
to run at this stage, stop it by entering 'MOTOR OFF' and pressing the RETURN key оп
the computer keyboard.
Then type CLOAD and press the RETURN key.
To run the program type in 'RUN' (or press the Ғ5 Function Key).
These operations may differ depending on the software purchased. Refer to the loading
instructions for the individual software tapes.
In order to rewind the tape you may have to remove the black plug from the remote
socket on the cassette recorder.

If any difficulty is experienced when loading a program from audio cassette tapes,
please refer to Page 39.
8. PROGRAM LOADING FROM ROM
CARTRIDGE
Before loading a program from a ROM cartridge, MAKE SURE THE COMPUTER IS
SWITCHED OFF otherwise damage to the program on the cartridge may result.
To load the program, simply insert the cartridge into the slot in the top of the computer
ensuring that the KEY NOTCH AT ΤΗΕ BACK OF THE CARTRIDGE 15 FACING THE
REAR OF THE COMPUTER.
When the computer is switched on, the message appearing on the screen will differ
depending on the type of cartridge installed.
IMPORTANT
If a program or data is already in the memory of your computer, it will be cleared from
the memory when а ROM cartridge is installed. Programs or data should, if required, be
saved on a cassette tape or diskette before installing a cartridge.
