Programming Considerations
For the query example described above, the host LIS computer interface should create the
following data format:
Upon receipt of the query data, the COMP-U-DIFF will then return an Acknowledge control
character <CTRL F> to the host computer. It should be noted that the COMP-U-DIFF ignores
the CR and LF characters if sent along with the above data strings.
The computer dialog utilizes the following ASCII characters:
<STX> = Ctrl B
<ETB> = Ctrl W
<ETX> = Ctrl C
<ACK> = Ctrl F
<NACK> = Ctrl U
