Service position
It is only possible to change wiper blades if you move the
wiper arms to the service position
In order to use the windsh ield wipers, the front lid must be
completely closed
M ovi n g w ip e r blad es to th e serv ice p osit ion
- When there is a risk of frost, make sure t hat the wiper
blades are not frozen to the windshield.
- Switch the ignition on .
- Move the wiper lever to position O

- Press the ! Reset ] button unt il the Display t ype menu
appears in the Driver Information System display .

Set > Wiper s> Front > Service position on f unction . The
windsh ield wiper arms move to the service posit ion.

- Make certain t hat the wipe r arms are ly in g against the
windshield .
- Switch the ign ition on and move the w iper lever from
position Oto 4

Note
Never drive your vehicle when the windshield wiper arms are in the
service position and pulled away from the windshield. When you
drive faster than 4 mph (6 km / h), the wiper arms automatica lly
return to the park position and could cause paint damage to the
front lid!

Tips
• You can also turn on the service position, for example, if you
want to protect the windshield from icing by using a cover.
• The service position moves to off automa t ica lly when you
operate the windshield wiper lever, or speed exceeds 4 mph
(6 km/h). •
Replacing front wiper blades
Wiper blades in good condition help keep the windshield
clear.
