automatic headlights are switched on

To use the
high beams, you first have to pu ll the high beam lever back and then
push
the
lever
forward
again.

Light sensors located in

Light sen

or malfunction
If
there is a light sensor
malfunction,
the symbo

comes on in
the
display
.
For safety reasons, the low beams are turned on perma-
nently with the switch in AUTO. However, you can continue to turn
the lights
on
and off using the light switch. Have

he light sensor
checked as soon as possible at a dea lership
.

WARNING
Autom atic head- and taillight control is only intended to assist
the
driver. This
feature does not relieve the driver of
his
responsi-
bility to check the headlights and to turn them on m anually
according to the current light and visibility conditions. For
example
,
fog and rain cannot be dete cted by the light
sensors.
Consequently,
alway
s
switch the headlight
s

on under these
weather condition
s
and
wh
en dr iving in the da
rk.
Crashes
can happen when you cannot see the road ahead and
when you cannot be seen by other motor
ists.
Alway
s
turn on the headlights so that you can see ahead and
so th at others can see your car from the
back.

In the
AUTO
mode,
the
low beams are
turned
off when
the
ig
ni-
ti
on is turned
off.
The
