When using the on-screen bar:

Press ON SCREEN twice.
Tile on-screen bar appears on the TV screen.

Press Cursor _/_ to highlight _ 1!a.

Press ENTER.

Press Cursor via repeatedly to select
the desired subtitle.
5 Press ENTER.

Press ON SCREEN.
The on-screen bar disappears.
NOTE
• Some subtitle (>1" a udio languages are abbreviated ill tile pol>u p
window. See "The language codes list". (See page 31.)
• Each time you press SUBTITLE, the subtitle appears and disappears
alternately.
• During DVD AUDIO playback, this llzature is available only R)r the
video part.

containing audio in several

When using the AUDIO button:

Press AUDIO.
Example (DVD VIDEO):
"ENGLISH" is selected out of 3 audio languages recorded.

• "ST". "L" and "R" is displayed when playing a VCD or SVCD
respectively representing "stereo", "lef) sound" and "right sound".
Frame-by-frameplayback
• During playback
Press n repeatedly.
Each time you press the button, the
still picture advances by one frame.
To return to normal playback
Press I_ (play button).
NOTE
• During playback ol DVD AUDIO, Ihis feature is available only R)r
the video part.
Playing back in slow-motion
• During playback

Press II at the point
where you want to start playback in
slow-motion from.
The system pauses playback.

Press _.
• Playback in forward slow-motion starts.
For DVD VIDEO/DVD AUDIO only:
• To play back in reverse slow-motion, press 41-_1.
Each time you press the button, the playback speed become
faster.
To return to normal playback
Press _ (play button).
NOTE
• Souud cannot he heard during slow-motion playback.
• During DVD AUDIO playback, this tlzatm'e is available only for the
vide() part.
