Manual Focus Adjustment
Autofocus may not work well on the
following subjects. In such case, focus
manually.
Reflective surfaces
Subjects with low contrast or
without vertical lines
Fast moving subjects
Through wet windows
Night scenes

1 Adjust the zoom.

If the joystick guide does not appear
on screen, press (_) to display it.

Push the joystick (V) towards
[FOCUS] to activate the manual
focus.
[FOCUS] on the joystick guide will be
displayed in light blue and "MF"
appears on the screen.

Adjust 14_ ) the focus as
necessary.
• Push the joystick (_) towards a_. for
a farther focal distance or push it (4)
towards _ for a closer focal distance.
• Pushing the joystick (V) towards
[FOCUS] again will return the
camcorder to autofocus.
5 Push the joystick (_,) towards
[BACK] to save the focus
adjustment.
The camcorder wilt automatically return to
autofocus when you set the mode switch to
Infinity Focus
Use this function when you wish to focus
on faraway subjects such as mountains or
fireworks.

Adjust the zoom.
Keep the joystick pushed ('V)
towards [FOCUS] for more than 2
seconds.
• oo appears.
• Pushing the joystick (Y) towards
[FOCUS] again will return the
camcorder to autofocus.
• Operating the zoom or the joystick
(_) will return the camcorder to
manual focus adjustment.
Push the joystick ( _, ) towards
[BACK] to save the focus
adjustment.
