15 Cranking test
A cranking test checks the performance of a vehicle starter system by measuring the voltage drop during engine
cranking.
This test helps identify potential issues with the battery, starter motor, or electrical connections in the starter circuit.

Access the settings via the main menu → Alternator.
■
Select the correct voltage 12V / 24V.
■
Select "Test" and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the test
procedure.
Description
No problem detected.
The alternator is not providing charging current to the battery.
Check the following and then retest:

Alternator belt.
■
Electrical connections.
If the test results still show a problem after checking the above, you may need
to replace the alternator.

Alternator belt is rotating when the engine is running.
■
Connections from the alternator to the battery.
The voltage output from the alternator to the battery exceeds the normal limits
of a functioning regulator.
Check the following and then retest:
■
Loose connections.
■
Ground connection is correct.
If there are no connection problems you may need to replace the regulator.
