TIRE WEAR INDICATOR
WARN I IMG: ft is dangerous to ride with a
worn-out tire. When a tire tread begins to
show lines, have your Yamaha dealer replace
the tire immediately.
Brakes
Check for correct play in the brake lever and
pedal and make sure they are working proper-
ly. Check the brakes at low speeds shortly
after starting out.
Switches and lights
Check for proper operation.

OPERATION AND IMPORTANT
RIDING POINTS
CUATION: Before riding this motorcycle,
become thoroughly familiar with all operat-
ing controls and their function.
Consult your Yamaha dealer regarding any
control or function you do not thoroughly
understand.
Starting a cold engine
1. Shift transmission into neutral.
2. Turn the fuel petcock to " O N " .
3. Turn the ignition key to " O N " position.
NOTE:
At this time, both neutral and oil indicator
lights should be on. If lights do not come on
ask Yamaha dealer to inspect.
