2. Cleaning method
Clean the element with solvent. After
cleaning, remove the remaining solvent
by squeezing the foam rubber. Then apply
30W motor oil to the entire surface and
squeeze out the excess oil. Foam should
be wet but not dripping. Coat the sealing
edges of the filter element with light
grease.

Reassembly
by
reversing the removal
procedure. Check whether the element is
seated completely against the case.
4. The air filter element should be cleaned
once a month or every 1,600 km. (1,000
mi.).

chine is operated in dusty or wet areas.

Carburetor adjustment
The carburetor is a vital part of the engine
and requires very sophisticated adjustment.
Most adjusting should be left to a Yamaha
dealer who has the professional knowledge
and experience to do so. However, the follow-
ing point may be serviced by the owner as
part of his usual maintenance routine.
