Your Y8103 can be used for any measuring application (in Teflon compatible
environments) except penetration. The exposed tip means extremely fast response time.
The special isothermal termination unit that plugs into your DMM
eliminates thermal
gradient problems by keeping the two DMM junctions at the same temperature. See
Section 2 of this manual for applications.

The Y8104 is a special isothermal termination kit that is designed to provide a
junction between a dual male banana plug and thermocouple wire. The termination unit
eliminates thermal gradient errors by keeping the two DMM
terminals at the same
temperature. The maximum thermocouple wire size is 14. The dual banana plug spacing is
.75 inches.
