Battery orientation

Remove the Lid.
Important guidelines to follow when using the battery.
Please note: The battery capacity becomes less at low tempera-
tures. Battery life will become shorter if a long time period elapses
after the battery had been recharged. When using the batteries af-
ter a long period of non use, be sure to recharge the battery first.
Hint for getting the longest life from your battery:

Recharge the battery after use.
If the battery is left discharged for a long period, it may become
impossible to charge.

Recharge the battery at least once every 6 months.
Even a charged battery, that is left unused for a long period of
time, the charging capacity of the battery may become reduced.

Do not charge the battery for more than 24 hours.
If the battery is charged for a longer period than necessary, the
charging capacity of the battery may become reduced.
4 When storing the battery, select a cool, dark, dry place.
AUTO POWER SHUT OFF
"BATT" starts blinking when the Battery Charge Level becomes
low and the display shows "E-
F".
The tape deck shuts off automatically a few minutes later to protect
the battery. POWER indicator starts blinking several seconds be-
fore power shuts off.

Battery Charging
The AC Adaptor/Battery Charger (SBC3640) is also to be used for
charging the battery.
® The charging time for one SBC3641 battery is approximately 2
hours.
@ The recharging time is based on a room temperature of 20°C.
The lower the temperature, the longer the recharging time. To
charge the battery, slide the battery into the charger as shown.
Set the switch to "CHARGE". The charge indicator will light up.
The battery is fully loaded when the indicator turns off.

® To protect the battery, do not repeatedly recharge a fully-
charged battery.
