TIMER RECORDING

Check to make sure the clock is set to the correct time.
Load a cassette that has its erase protection tab intact (not bro-
ken off).
The attached rod antenna may not provide a clear picture or
sound depending on the conditions of the broadcast signal.
Since the power supply of a rechargeable battery may become
exhausted during the recording, it is recommended to use an
external power supply when using the Timer Recording func-
tion.
To confirm the timer program settings
Cancel TIMER STANDBY. mode, turn on the power, and press the
SET TIMER button.
Even during timer recording you can check the settings of the cur-
rently executing timer program by pressing the SET TIMER button.
To change or delete the timer program settings
Cancel TIMER STANDBY mode, turn on the power, and press the
SET TIMER button.
You can change any of the settings on the timer screen display in

@ same manner as when originally making the settings.
Also, you can clear all of the timer program settings by pressing

e CLEAR button while the timer screen is displayed.
mer program settings cannot be altered during recording.
During timer recording
Normal operation buttons such as the STOP and PAUSE/STILL but-
tons do not function during timer recording.
To cancel timer recording
Press the TIMER REC button again.

It is also possible to cancel timer recording in mid-operation by
pressing the SET TIMER button to display the timer program
settings on the LCD panel and then pressing the CLEAR button.
If a power blackout occurs during timer recording
mer recording stops. The power will not come back on automati-
cally. Even not when the power blackout ends.

1. Press the SET TIMER button.
. Set the recording start time.
. Set the recording stop time.
4. Select the channel to be recorded.
The timer screen appears
as shown in the diagram
at the right.
The '-:--' display indicates
that the unit is not currently
set for timer recording.
If left in this condition,
the screen will disappear after several seconds.
Set the hour using the SET +/— buttons.
After setting the hour,
press the SET TIMER
button to move the set-
ting position to the
minutes position. (The
minutes position
blinks.) Set the
minutes using the
SET +/~ buttons.
When finished setting!
the minutes, press the
SET TIMER button.
Set the OFF time in the same manner as the start time
Use the SET + /~ buttons to select
the channel number you wish to
record.
Only memorized channels
can be selected using the SET
+/+ buttons.
