using the TRACKING button to obtain
a normal picture.
@ When playing tapes recorded
by other VCRs, there are some cases
where the picture tracking cannot be
adjusted perfectly.

TO QUICKLY SEARCH
FOR A DESIRED SCENE
® During playback, press and hold the REW/SEARCH or FF/SEARCH button
until the desired scene is located.
®@ Normal playback resumes when the button is released.
To normally fast-forward or rewind the tape

®@ With the unit in Stop mode, press the REW/SEARCH or FF/SEARCH button.

During special playback operations, noise ap-
pears in the playback image making it less
clear than during normal playback.
@ Noise may blur the upper and/or lower parts of
the image and the color may disappear.
@ The position of the noise varies during fast-
forward and rewind operations.
TO FREEZE THE IMAGE AT A DESIRED SCENE
During playback, press the PAUSE/STILL button.
The PAUSE/STILL indicator lights.
Press the PAUSE/STILL button again to resume normal playback.
AUTO REWIND MECHANISM
When the end of the tape is reached during playback or recording, the
tape is automatically rewound to the beginning.

Press the COUNTER MEMO button to set the counter display.
1. At the beginning of the scene you wish to return to later, press the
COUNTER RESET and COUNTER MEMO buttons. The counter display on
the LCD panel becomes ''0000" and the ''M" symbol is displayed.
2. When recording or playback is finished, press the STOP button.
3. Press the REW/SEARCH button.
The tape stops when the counter reaches ''0000"'.
This function also works in the fast-forward direction.
To stop in mid-operation, press the STOP button.
