Make sure the answerng system s on When the answerng system s on, the red lght on the
ANSWER ON/OFF key should be lt
If Toll Saver s actvated, the number of rngs changes to two when there are new messages
watng (see page 31)
If the memory s full or f the answerng system s off, the system wll answer after ten rngs
In some cases, the answerng system may be affected by the rngng system used by the local
telephone company
When recordng the announcement, make sure you speak n a normal tone of voce about nne
nches from the telephone base
Make sure there is no background noise (television, music, traffic, etc.) when recording.

If a caller leaves a very long message, part of t may be lost when the system dsconnects the
call after four mnutes
If the caller pauses for more than seven seconds, the system stops recordng and dsconnects the
