1. Log in to the HostingDirector application using the user name and password
you configured for the administrator account.
Note: In the future, you can access the login page by directing your Web
browser to one of the following:
v http://Appliance IP Address/manager
v http://Appliance Domain/manager
2. Click Yes to accept the license agreement. The HostingDirector main window
will be displayed.
3. From the HostingDirector IAE Tree, select the Server node.
4. Click Edit on the HostingDirector toolbar.
5. Click the Usage Data tab located in the Server Properties details panel.
Configure how usage data for each VDS is recorded:
a. Select the Write to Log check box to enable the logging of VDS usage data.
b. Specify a location and name for the usage data log file.
c. Select a counter to specify when usage logs are reset. For example, you can
configure the counter to reset each month if you calculate customers usage
on a monthly basis.
d. Select how many counters will be archived.
e. Click OK.
6. With the Server node still selected, click Edit on the HostingDirector toolbar.
7. Click the Contacts/Contact Address tabs located in the Server Properties
details panel.
a. Enter contact information for the server administrator. Server level alerts
are sent to the email address configured on this panel. This information is
displayed in each customer's account Control Panel.
b. Determine which accounts will receive emailed system alerts (such as disk
or file quota warnings). If you select the Enable All Alerts checkbox,
Administrators, Resellers, and Site Owners will receive system alert emails.
If left unselected, alerts will be sent to Site Owners only.
c. Click OK.
8. From the HostingDirector IAE Tree, select the DNS node.
9. Click Edit on the HostingDirector toolbar.
10. Click the Default DNS Header tab located in the Server Properties details
panel.
a. Type the email address for your DNS administrator.
b. Modify SOA parameters if necessary. Default settings are recommended.
c. Click OK.
11. From the HostingDirector IAE Tree, select the Server Management node. An
HTML-based Control Panel opens and replaces the applet-based Control
Panel. IP Management is used to create, edit, share, and delete IP address
ranges used by each VDS.
12. Select IP Management. Do the following:
a. Select IP Ranges.
b. Select Add New IP Range and then proceed through the configuration
wizard panels to add a new IP range to the system. IP-based VDS's will
use these IP addresses.
c. Click OK.
d. Select Shared IP's.
