to the Default VLAN profile, Trunk mode actually functions in a hybrid mode in that it
allows both tagged and untagged traffic:
• If a port receives untagged traffic (that is, without a VLAN tag), the port forwards the
traffic to the LAN and the WLAN.
• If a port receives tagged traffic (that is, with a VLAN tag), the port forwards the traffic
to other ports that function in Trunk mode and that are assigned to the same VLAN
profile (by default, the Default VLAN profile with VLAN ID 1).
To change a port mode to Trunk mode or Access mode on the router (also referred
to as the Base in this context) or satellite:
1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your
Orbi network.
2. Enter orbilogin.com.
A login window displays.
If your browser does not display a login window but displays a security warning and
does not let you proceed, see What to do if you get a browser security warning on
page 29.
3. Enter the admin user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you set the first time that you
logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays.
4. Select ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > VLAN / Bridge Settings.
The VLAN / Bridge Settings page displays.
For the router (Base) and each satellite, the ports display on the page:
• Blue: The ports are connected to devices that are turned on.
• Gray: The ports are either not connected or are connected to devices that are
not turned on.
5. In either the Base (router) or Satellite section, for the Ethernet port that you want to
change, select Access or Trunk from the Mode menu.
6. Click the Apply button.
