Operation

• For three phase pumps, check direction of rotation. The impeller
must turn clockwise viewing from above.
• Check water level. The AOD submersible pumps can only operate
continuously if it is completely submersed. If the pump is operated
continuously for an extended period of time in a dry condition or at
the lowest water level, the motor protector will be activated.
Constant repetition of this action will shorten pump service life. Do
not start the pump again in such a situation until after the motor has
completely cooled.
• Test correct working of the pump
- For pump without floatswitch just turn the pump on and off a
couple of times to check for normal pump start.
- For pump with floatswitch make sure the floatswitch is
completely raised and then turn on and off a couple of times
to check for normal pump start.
- Turn on the pump and check working of floatswitch by lower
and raise the floatswitch some times.
