* Grinding wheels or any other accessory must have a maximum
safe operating speed greater than the "no load RPM" marked on
the tool's nameplate.
¢ Do not use grinding wheel that is larger than the maximum
recommendedsize for your tool, or worn down darnaged wheels
from larger grinders.
* Do not use depressed hub grinding wheels for cutoff operations.
¢ Do not use this tool with "Woodcarving" blade, such blades
create frequent kick-back and loss of control.
° Keep cord away from the grinding wheels or any other sanding
accessory.
¢ Avoid bouncing and snagging the wheel, especially when work-
ing corners, sharp edges, etc. This can cause loss of contro! and
kick-back.
* Do not grind or sand nearflammable materials, as sparks from
the wheelcould ignite these materials.
e When sanding, do not use oversized sandingdisc. Larger sand-
ing disc will extend beyond the sanding pad causing snagging,
tearing of the disc or kick-back. Extra paper extending beyond the
sanding pad can also cause seriouslacerations.
¢ When sanding chemically pressure treated lumber, paint that
may be lead based, or any other materials that may contain car-
cinogens, use special precautions. A suitable breathing respirator
must be worn by all personnel entering the work area. Work area
should be sealed by plastic sheeting and persons not protected
should be kept out until work areais thoroughly cleaned.
Double Insulated Tools
* Double Insulation [] is a design concept usedin electric power
tools which eliminates the need for the three wire grounded pow-
er cord and grounded power supply system. It is a recognized
and approved system by Underwriter's Laboratories, CSA and
Federal OSHA authorities.
IMPORTANT:Servicing of a too! with double insulation requires
care and knowledge of the system and should be performed only
by a qualified service technician.
WHEN SERVICING, USE ONLY IDENTICAL REPLACEMENT
PARTS.
POLARIZED PLUGS.If your tool is equipped with a polarized
plug (one blade is wider than the other), this plug will fit in a
polarized outlet only one way.If the plug does notfit fully in the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician to install the proper outlet. To reduce the risk of electric
shock, do not changethe plug in any way.
Extension Cords
* Replace damaged cords immediately. Use of damaged cords
can shock, burn orelectrocute.
° If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with adequate size
conductors should be used to prevent excessive voltage drop,
loss of power or overheating. The table shows the correct size to
use, depending on cord length and nameplate amperagerating of
tool. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. Always use U.L. and
CSAlisted extension cords.
